Description: Please join us for a journey through the process of propagation by cuttings, led by plant health lecturer and propagation expert Jacob Hurst. We will learn how new roots are formed, strategies to encourage rapid and uniform rooting of cuttings, and how to safely acclimate your new plants to life in the field or nursery. Special attention will be devoted to regional challenges to propagation by cuttings and organic production systems.
About the speaker: Jacob Hurst, Ph.D.
Jacob Hurst is a lecturer in the Plant Science Department at California State University, Fresno, and PhD student in the Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences Department at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He teaches plant health and propagation courses. His research interests include grafting, propagation of drought-tolerant food crops, and development of climate-smart sustainable agroecosystems.
