USLGA Northeast Region Meeting

Dear Lavender Enthusiasts,

USLGA Northeast Region Event, the weekend of Oct 27, 28 and 29.

This event promises to be a fantastic opportunity for lavender growers like you to come together, collaborate, and strengthen our lavender community in the Northeast region. Here's why you won't want to miss it:

  • Networking: Connect with fellow lavender enthusiasts from all over the Northeast.
  • Idea Sharing: This event is the perfect platform to share and gain new ideas to benefit your lavender farm.
  • In-depth Learning, Our agenda will include:
    • Lloyd Traven from Peace Tree Farm. Lloyd is the pioneering force behind several renowned lavender varieties, including Phenomenal, Sensational, and Exceptional. During his session, Lloyd will delve into the details of these different varieties, sharing insights on their unique characteristics and the captivating story behind the creation of new varietals.
    • Instruction and Demonstration for making Soap, Bath Bombs and Shower Steamers from Cindy Novak owner of Candles and Supplies Co.
    • Panel discussions on Distillation and Disease
    • Marketing and Tips for Success presented by Joanne Voelcker from Mt Airy Lavender will discuss best practices for making your farm profitable
    • Saturday Tour of Mt Airy Lavender and demonstration of AT Ferrell’s seed cleaning machine used for bud cleaning (one of the vendor’s at the USLGA conference in Portland)
    • Sunday Tour of Flock and Field and demonstration of Ricardo Besel’s bud stripper and cleaner as well as various equipment used for distillation, and bud cleaning. Located in beautiful Salem County, NJ, Field & Flock Lavender Farm is owned by George and Kim Reeves. The farm opened to visitors in 2022 and offers small events, classes, distillation demonstrations and handmade products for sale. The farm has over 2,000 lavender plants and is home to a variety of animals such as llamas, emus, goats and donkeys.

Registration Information

  • Sign-Up Deadline: Sunday, October 22, 2024 - $50.00 per person. This price includes lunch, light continental breakfast and snacks on Saturday, and a drink coupon for Friday’s social event.

Location, Dates, and Times

The Saturday event will be held at Mt Airy Lavender, Coatesville PA
Mt Airy Lavender is located 30 miles west of Philadelphia, PA, 30 miles east of Lancaster PA, and 30 miles northwest of Wilmington, DE.

Hotel and Travel Information

Mt Airy Lavender is 55 minutes (NW) from the Phila Airport.
Field and Flock is 45 minutes (South) from the Phila Airport.

Note: One hotel on this list, the Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Coatesville/Exton is only 10 minutes from Mt Airy Lavender. It is not close to Philadelphia as the name implies.

The other hotels are about 20 minutes from Mt Airy Lavender and close to the Friday evening social event and the Downingtown Exit of the Pa Turnpike.

Field and Flock (Sunday’s visit) is approx 1 hour 20 minutes from these hotels and Mt Airy Lavender.
